Weakened by the debt crisis since the end of 2009, the European Union has faced many crises in the second decade of the 2000s. The rise of the radical right, the flux of refugees from the Middle East and North Africa, the exit of the UK from the Union, and the rift in trans-Atlantic relations under the Trump administration are among the many. Once an example of successful integration, the European Union now tries to keep its members together against all odds.
The third issue of Insight Turkey (Vol. 20, No. 3) will focus on the recent cycle of crises in the EU and its impact on the future of the Union.
