This is a normal case considering that the last two chapters of the book, almost half of it, consist of two articles previously published by the author. It is also noteworthy that the author made use of English, French, Italian, and Russian sources for his book. On the other hand, although the European Council granted Ukraine the status of a candidate for accession to the EU in June, the lack of a wide-ranging analysis on Ukraine’s EU membership process is the most obvious shortcoming of the book. Despite this shortcoming, the book provides a good contribution to the literature on the EU’s reactions to the war.
