The Israeli-Palestine conflict, which is one of the longest conflicts in the modern history, is one of the most important issues in the Middle East and world politics today. Since 1948, the conflict has gone through several phases shaped mainly by the wars between Arab States and Israel. Conversely many peace plans were initiated, some of which ended up with peace agreements.
Although the Oslo Accords in 1993 was a promising turning point, the later developments (the second intifada 2000, the reoccupation of the West Bank in 2003, the general elections and Hamas rising to the power 2006, the Hamas-Fatah division in 2007, and a series of attacks by Israel to the Gaza Strip).Recently, the United States under the Trump administration has taken several initiatives, such as transferring the US embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing the united Jerusalem as the new capital, and the declaration of the Deal.

Insight Turkey's Winter 2020 issue (Vol. 22, No. 1) will focus on the Israeli-Palestine conflict by reopening the debate about the conflicts' drivers and actors, analyzing its dynamics, and examining its possible trajectories and future. We welcome scholarly papers examining and discussing political, economic, or social aspects of this issue.
